Mr. Sprenger joins the firm after serving as the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of a national construction, service and retail company. Prior to his service in-house, he worked in the litigation department of a large, international law firm.
Mr. Sprenger has a wide spectrum of litigation, corporate governance and transactional experience. He has counseled clients in litigation matters involving construction, commercial disputes, product liability, employment, business torts and creditors’ rights. He has represented clients in mediation, arbitration and before judges and juries in state and federal courts.
Mr. Sprenger is also well-practiced in conducting internal investigations and handling local, state and federal government inquires. On the transactional side, he has drafted and negotiated countless agreements, including national purchase agreements, customer contracts, vendor agreements, leases and licenses.
Mr. Sprenger has developed a keen ability to counsel clients in a cost-effective manner. He was named as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Ohio Lawyers Magazine in 2006, and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Representative Experience
- Represented a general contractor concerning allegations of breach of warranty, defective design and consumer fraud.
- Represented a sealant manufacturer in an investigation by the United States Department of Labor involving the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Davis-Bacon Act.
- Counseled a national waterproofing company when its largest customer breached a contract and switched to a competitor’s product, resulting in the recapture of 80% of the former customer’s business without filing suit.
- Represented a paper manufacturer against a former employee for violation of his covenant not to compete, conversion and theft of trade secrets.
- Drafted and negotiated a national private label agreement for a manufacturer.
- Revised all contractor’s nationwide customer and vendor contracts.
- Represented a service company in the internal investigation of employees’ alleged improper conduct.
